Default favicon

I'm having trouble getting a favicon to display for most of my sites on my VPS. Anyone have any ideas why?

Actually, what seems to be happening is that sites I already had when my service was switched from shared hosting to a VPS won't display favicons, while those I've established since switching will. Weird.

If you remove the favicon, then drop all your cache on your browser and delete all the history, you should be able to that should load up the file next time.

its normally within the /public_html/ is the one and only place you need it, if you would like you can also add favicon code into your site to tell it where to look (if you need to or want to).

Thanks. Turns out, I had to add the line of code to display it, even though I had placed the favicon inside the public html folder. It's working now.

Glad to hear that you got it resolved, sounds like the code you needed is:

You need to add the following code inside the "<head> and before </head>" tags:

Code:
<LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="http://www.yourdomain.com/name_of_icon.ico">
