I got my VPS setup with packages and accounts and I can login
to cpanel using the accounts' (reseller or shared) user/pass but I have not figured out how to login to cpanel at the VPS root level! No such information was included in the welcome email. Is there a third privilige level above shared and reseller in cpanel? or is everything done using WHM at the root level? It seems that Fantastico is not included in the VPS package. Is that correct? Thanks in advance for your help |

Hello - Welcome to the HostICan Community Forum!
This is realivety easy. What you should do is: 1. Login to your WHM >> Accounf Functions >> Create a Account The above will allow you to create a cPanel account and then you may log into via 2. WHM >> Account Information >> List Accounts

Thanks for your response.
As I indicated in my o.p., I have already done that and it is working fine. what I am trying to do is to use cpanel to manage the domain associated with the VPS myvpsdomain.com. create or redirect emails mostly. |

You can add them as addon domains, and that should do it... I believe.

Yes, even though you registered the VPS with a domain at the time of purchase, it does not have a cPanel account attached to it until you create one. You will need to create an account for it, when setting that account up in WHM you should specify the domain name (ie. yourvpsdomain.com).
This is the default behavior of WHM. Once its setup you should be able to login to your newly created account by going to: http://cpanel.yourvpsdomain.com However, under certain conditions it could take several hours for the DNS to propagate. Last edited by sirbrett; 12-13-2008 at 11:29 AM. |
