New to VPS

Ok I am very new to this VPS thing and configuring my own server. I know Linux that's not a problem.

But I just spent over an hour trying to get my domain working as the primary for my new VPS-Rage system. And no go.

So could someone please help me out. I went back to original config.

I have my domain with GoDaddy. So now knowing that. Could someone please walk me through how to setup the primary domain on my VPS? When I say walkthrough it's complete. I mean how do I bind it at GoDaddy to my servers IP. Then how do I setup the new nameservers for that domain and then how do I setup WHM to work completely so that when I start adding domains to the new nameservers (eg. ns1.mydomain.com) they work completely and the mail is collected correctly? In other words I need a step by step what to do to get up and running with my primary so everything is working right.

Thanks in advance, this would be a great help. I have until Monday afternoon to make this work. My hosting account at my old place expires on Tue., so I have to transfer everything over fast.
