Default Got hacked

Hi there,

I got hacked yesterday and it made me realize the importance of making regular backups of my data. I want to avoid something like this happening again in the future by maybe opting for the managed hosting service, however it's a bit out of my budget.

I tried to harden my server through making some tweaks in WHM's Security sections and also in my php.ini file. I now sit with the problem that my php scripts don't work that well. Seems like the $_SERVER superglobals aren't functioning. I have enabled register_globals in php.ini again as well as reverted most of the changes I made in the Security section CPANEL.

Has anyone got an idea of how I can get this to work again?

Revert the remaining changes and you should be okay.

(Also, make backups of config files before changing them, that way it's easier - and faster, to go back a step and try other settings)

Another tip is don't use chmod 777 on any folders... that normally helps some
