Question Cron <root@server-2> run-parts /etc/cron.hourly

I keep getting this message in my email:

Quote:
/etc/cron.hourly/modsecparse.pl:

DBI connect('modsec:localhost','modsec',...) failed: Unknown database 'modsec' at /etc/cron.hourly/modsecparse.pl line 19
Unable to connect to mysql database at /etc/cron.hourly/modsecparse.pl line 19.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Mod_sec is more then likely not installed on your VPS. So all you need to do is remove it from the root cron, and that should resolve this issue.

For those with the same (or similar) issue, I solved it this way:

  1. SSH to the server
  2. Go to /etc/cron.hourly
  3. Make backup of cronjob (in case of mistakes)
  4. Delete the cron job

This error now stopped (there was garbage in the job - no idea how it got there).
