What Is Plesk?

Can anyone help me?

I saw back up instructions
that instructed me to go to Plesk.
I don't see it in my cPanel.

Is this something new in a newer server than mine?

If the instructions for back-up are for "Plesk" -
then I just substitute the word "cPanel" for Plesk and follow instructions?

Are you reading a PR sheet?

Plesk is an OK app, but cPanel is far, far better, and more mature. cPanel provides convenient security updates, plus automatic installations of the latest MySQL. The EasyApache feature makes it simple to upgrade Apache, PHP and loads of add-ons. Plesk has nothing like it.

Plesk is a separate control panel. You can use cPanel or Plesk, if you choose a package where a choice is available. But not both.

But it doesn't have the ability to automatically update MySQL for you and install necessary server patches, and optionally to update Apache and PHP. cPanel does.
