Ok, I found two homehtm folders

home.htm
home1.htm

Which one should I delete?

If this does not work, and end up doing a re-install of WP, will I loose all the work I have done to the site so far?

Well, so long as you keep your wp content folder, which contains themes and plugins, and use the same database, the answer is probably no.

Hi Shazam,

Thank you for jumping in.... I have a feeling need some serious help here.

I am new to Wordpress....

One thing that is concerning me is that WP says we should never have to re-install WP.

That everything is always fixable.

"WordPress is flexible enough to handle all of these situations"

So now, I am completely lost and do not have the expertise to figure out how to get my WP site to show up.

Something has changed over the last couple day. Now at least my taogem.com is showing up in the url window of my browser when I go to it.

I don't know where my WP site is at right now. I cant view it no matter what I do.

You renamed your index.php file to indexOLD.php instead. Rename it or replace it from a WordPress download from their site and you should be able to at least access something.

I think that HostICan must have changed that.

I didn't....

So not sure if they did it for some reason.

What would you think it should be renamed too?

Also..... hate to be a pain in the... , but not sure what this means.

"replace it from a WordPress download from their site"?

Listen just download WordPress and replace that one file, OK?

Again thank you Shazam....

Sometimes things come up at the worst times.

I have to take off for a couple of hours. Can't get out of it so as to continue with this right now.

Would you check back here in a few hours to see how I am coming along with the downloading of WP?

The first time I downloaded WP to HostICan, I had a volunteer do the free install.

I am a little more comfortable with my control panel now, so will try to get a handle on the download and the one file when I get back.

Thanks again, and talk to you a bit later?

Before I do anything, I just went to my Index of / and not sure what I am looking at. So before I do what Shazam suggested, would someone tell me if there is something else going on that I am not aware of, or need to think about before replacing the file that Shazam suggested I do?

Weird....... I can not hyperlink the the word taogem.com. It changed itself to "index of" all by itself?

Thank you.....

Hold on you guys........

While I was gone, a friend of mine was in and trying to fix.....

Let me see exactly what he has done and will come back once I know more.

I did make the change to the php file and tried to rename it without the "old" in there.

It gave me a big error and now has been replaced with something else.

I think it now says errorlog.

Ok.....

I should have listened to exactly what Shazam said to do the first time.

Instead of trying to just rename it, I did end up downloading WP and uploading the new php file.

Then just deleted the error_php and now........... All is well !!!

Thank you Shazam, and thank you Denis....

Sorry I was such a pain in the .....

I am still a green pea at all this. Thanks for your patience!
