HostICan Testing Results for October are in!

I've been extremely busy this November so I am a bit late on reporting my testing results from October, sorry about that. I will more than likely work on the November results in the first week of December since I'll need more time around Christmas to chill with family.

Anyway, the results are in!

HostICan was the only host for October to have 100% uptime. I have to compliment HostICan on their stellar network and hardware. This was really impressive. When you realize we send pings every 5 minutes (1 minute coming in December testing), that is really impressive.

Part of the problem we are noticing is we had our testing servers pinging our main blog page of each host we tested. Some hosts only had one small post while HostICan, as an example, had a full page with over 60K of content.

So starting today, Nov 25th, forward, we are testing page load times and server response times to a 10K page full of text with zero images. This exact same page is being used on all hosts we test from today on.

As I noted earlier, we will be sending 1 minute pings to each testing page as well. Since the page is only 10K in size, it won't overload my shared hosting accounts. Or at least, it shouldn't.

The ultimate goal was to provide an equal testing ground to get better, more reliable results. I think we will accomplish that going forward.

Watch for my January post where I report on December to get the new fair and balanced testing results using this new testing method.
