Default Can't Configure Email

Hi!

I'm not sure if this is the right spot, but I can't seem to get my e-mail to work in Outlook 2003. I pretty much did everything I'm supposed to do:

Tools-->Email Accounts--> Add a new email account--> POP3

I filled in the appropriate boxes with my name and email address.

In the incoming server (POP), I typed in mail.mydomainname.com.
In the outgoing server (SMTP), I also typed mail.mydomainname.com

My username is name@domainname.com
Password: password

Under More Settings:

General Tab: mail.domainname.com

Everything seems to work, except the test e-mail message can't be sent.

The errors tab says:

"Sent test email message. The specified server was found, but there was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL information is correct."

I DID check off the "my outgoing server requires authentication." box.

Thanks!

Can you explain what the problem was? Did it correct itself or was it a type somewhere? Thanks

Please let us know what you settings you are using so we can help:

POP3 Server: mail. ?
SMTP Server: mail. ? <-- for this you will have to use your ISP's SMTP server unless you have a T1 or above.
