I use Base-Host web hosting package. How can I password protect some of my files on my website?

You can protect files in a directory on your site using a username and password. Login to your cPanel and go to "Password Protect Directories". Navigate to the directory that you want to protect. Open a folder by clicking on the folder link (or icon). Click on the tick box next to "Password protect this directory:" Enter the name that you want to appear in the Protected Resource Name field. This is optional and purely for the user's benefit. Click on the Save button. After that, enter the user's name in the "Username" field, and their password in the "Password" field. Click on the "Add/Modify authorized user" button.
