I have uploaded the Google Site map to my plugin folder in the control panel.
Before I activate it in my WP adimin/plugins, I am reading that there is a script that needs write access to the Blog directory I am looking right at some instructions on how to do it, but just not getting it. The following is totally Greek to this Greenpea... Create the sitemap files and make them writable If you can't make your blog root folder writable or don't want to do so, you can create two new files, name them "sitemap.xml" and "sitemap.xml.gz", upload them to your blog root and use a FTP program to apply CHMOD 755 or 777 to them. To create these files, simply open Notepad, click on "File > Save As", choose "Filetype: All File" and enter "sitemap.xml" as the name. Repeat this step for "sitemap.xml.gz". That is Greek isn't it?? ![]() Is there anyone here that might be willing to do this for me if you had the access to my HostICan CP? Just asking...... |

Ok, I did this and now have the two above named files sitting in my computers documents folder. Now I am not sure how to upload them to my blog root and use a FTP program to apply CHMOD 755 or 777 to them. |

I am not sure if I am just talking to myself or not..........., but just in case anyone is following along in my little sitemap adventure....
![]() One thing that may help me, might be to know what type of FTP programs I have? CuteFTP | Voyager FTP | Leech FTP | Total Commander (Windows Commander) | WS FTP I found this, but not sure if I am on the right track with it. . |

Hi Denis,
Thanks for responding. I do appreciate it. I did get some help on another forum with it and everything looks like it is in place. Have a nice evening...... Last edited by TaoGem; 04-08-2008 at 10:06 AM. |
