Default Email on Vbulletin Forum

I have a Base-Host account and a vbulletin forum with about 500 members right now and growing quickly. What would I need to do to be able to email all my members? What upgrade would be needed?

BTW. I did not realize HostiCan had a forum until this morning. Thanks to the admin for setting this up!

TTTG - Welcome to the HostICan Forum! Glad to see you here, and thanks for the comments.

On shared hosting there is a 100 email limit per hour, so if you need to email all your folks (of your forum) you should look into getting a VPS account when your ready to do that, as if you send more then 100 emails, the system will lock the folder that you are mailing from automatically.

The VPS will be able to email as many folks as you need, so that shouldn't be a problem for you, when you're doing mailings.

Hopefully the above helps you out.

Thanks Inxcode. I will look into the VPS.

Is there some sort of VB plugin that will limit the emails to bursts of 100 per hour or so?

I guess having VB on shared isnt a good idea because all those members can setup threads to Instant Email notify as well, which can easily burn through your 100 per hour allotment.

Not as yet, no one has thought of that one yet... could be some money in it? Wanna make it for us?

I am going to give this our first try today on our new dedicated server. We have just over 600 members now and I am going to send them out in 100 email batches.
