I'm looking for a new host, and have an question regarding your accompanied domain ad. At the end of the contract, is there a mechanism for me to somehow buy the domain (only) and transfer it somewhere else ?

Richard - Welcome to the HostICan Community!
Yes, you may move it anywhere you wish if you move from us. The domain always belongs to you.

It depends on where you currently have the domains hosted, but you usually get a box where you can point them to the DNS servers of HIC.

lol... You can ALWAYS move your domain name... it's part of 'domain-ing' in general. Some places make it a little harder to do since nobody wants to lose your business, but it can always and I mean ALWAYS be done... one way or another. ;-)

I'm a complete noobie when it comes to domains and moving them from one host to another. I am currently with godaddy hosted and where I purchased from. If I switch to your hosting do I just need to modify the DNS configuration through godaddy?

The best solution is to transfer your domain to HostICan. Use this link for registration Domain Registration Services . Then, create an account and use it to transfer the domain name. Once your domain is transferred you can easy to setup DNS records.
Code:
ns1.hostican.com ns2.hostican.com |

It's really not complicated, as said above just the name servers need to be changed to reflect the new server it is residing on.
http://answers.hostican.com/question...n+Name+Servers <-- Handy Link! I'll be changing to Host-i-Can soon enough, just need to finalize some things
