Hi,
I am relatively unfamiliar with cron jobs and php, but in seaching for a workaround for the limitations of 100 emails/hour I found one reference. (I have a newsletter in phplist and send out a newsletter each month to about 1,000 users). It was suggested (Hostican Emails) that I could use a cron job to execute a php script to run each hour and send off 100 emails. First, is this feasible? Secondly, would this be an easy script to write and/or does anyone know of an existing script close to what I want to do? Thanks - John Vogel |

You really don't need to use a cron job. PHPList is already set up to handle the "send speed" of mailings to keep within HIC's limits.
Take a look at this article in the PHPList documentation. |

Yes, it's not fully developed yet, but it's easy to use and has a nice standard template for mailings and signups. I've tested it, and with the current release, you can deploy it in a real situation and get good results. My problem with PHPList is that the documentation is written by people who don't know how to write, and it has the user interface from hell. And I'm understating that.
