Hello, Basically what you need to do is: 1. Login via root (via shell) using putty 2. do: cd /etc/ 3. vi my.cnf You won't be able to see this file from a GUI as its a core system file, you will have to do all this from putty.

Thanks i ran the shell commands and truly i was able to see the my.cnf settings. I didnt find any setting on InnoDB though. I dont think everything showed up. Another question how do i then edit the cnf file in SSH console? how do i exit from this .cnf file? Thanks i really appreciate your help. At least am heading somewhere now rather than a stupid accusation of me deleting the file i havent even seen. |
