Default hosting PHP functions

Hello all, I am a new user and already received my account details. Now I am trying to understand some certain PHP functions on my hosting. What is a phpinfo file and what it serves?

Default Re: hosting PHP functions

A phpinfo.php file is a file that makes it easier for you to see PHP information about the server you are hosted on. Creating a phpinfo.php file is simple and easy, phpinfo file containing this line only:
PHP Code:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>
Upload that file to your server, and call it with your Internet browser.
