Default New to the site! ***bow***

Hey guys. I'm new to the site. I'm coming over from powweb.com. I was with them for about 2 years and it seems like recently they have declined in both their customer service and server performance when it comes to shared hosting. Recently, in the last few months, my pages started taking over 15 seconds to load. And this was checked on multiple computers mind you. On a good day benchmarking websites will tell me they load in 3-4 seconds which is below average at best.

Anyways, the final straw was when I talked to their customer support, which back in the glory days when I first joined was top notch, now I think they outsource their helpdesk. (If you guys do that I'm outta here) So basically I talked to them on multiple occasions and every time without fail they would tell me that they had found a problem and they "fixed the server back-end", ***sigh*** and yes that was their technical diagnosis...lol

Of course the last time I called support I wouldn't take that for an answer. But the problem was with their tiered support methods... basically when you call in for support you can only talk to a level 1 tech who can't actually fix your problem if its complicated. I've been in the IT consulting business for over 8 years and found it insulting not to get answers other than, "Sir, can you do a tracert for us and submit the results to..." or "Sir, your website is coming up fine for us, you may want to check with your ISP."

Man I hope I made the right choice.

Please, someone tell me that I did. I've noticed that there aren't a lot of members on the forums and that is kind of scary.

Our forums only started in October, and it takes time to build a community of this sort. We're moving along well, but it can take a year or two before you see substantial numbers of messages and members. That's just the way it is. I've been there

As you mentioned in another post, the discussion forum is hidden under the navbar "Support" option. I think this community will grow in due time.
