Okay, I just started a terra hosting account. The domain I got for free, my primary domain is owenpeery.com. It is a resume site, soon to be updated, and everything works fine.
I have a Blogger blog that I'd like to move to its own domain, change it to a word press theme, and host it on my account. Before I did all those things I just wanted to play around with Word Press to see how it works. I installed WP in owenpeery.com/blog. I imported all my blogger posts and comments and started to tweak the layout and options. When it was getting closer to something I liked I thought okay now purchase the domain. I purchased the domain francetales.com. I just dragged the blog folder from owenpeery.com/blog and dropped it into francetales.com. When I type in francetales.com I don't get the blog site I get what looks like a directory of files. I cannot figure it out. When talking to support on the phone yesterday they said I would have to do a redirect since it was originally set up in a different domain. What do I do for this? Also they thought I'd have to log in to WP-admin and change where the blog is located there. The trouble is that since I moved it I cannot log in to WP-admin, I get a 404 error. i no longer know how to get admin access to my blog. I'm sure it is just a few little things to correct but I have run out of things to try. Here is my file structure main domain is owenpeery.com under that is public html folder inside that there is a folder for francetales.com inside that there is a blog folder inside that are all the files including my index.php file How do I make it so that when someone types into a browser francetales.com they get to my index page? |

You've done everything right except the redirect occurs within your Wordpress database so you'll need to edit your database to show the new URL. Once that is done, you should no longer get a 404 error.
Login to cPanel Backup Your Database Click PHPMyAdmin Click your wordpress database wp_options Table Click Browse Tab Option 1 - SiteURL - Click Pencil and change URL wp_users Table Click Browse Edit the admin account (Pencil) Change base_url

user_url, sorry.
![]() Basically, you need to change the URL from owenpeery.com to francetales.com in the database wherever you see it and it should correct the issues you are having.
