Default Future of the personal PC

Have you guys ever thought about what could happen?

1. Microsoft says that "Windows 7" might be a subscription based OS

2. Most software providers are turning to a SaaS (Software as a Service) model

3. OS models like eyeOS.com | eyeOS Professional Services coming out!
Proof: eyeOS.com | eyeOS Professional Services

4. Scientists found how to move 10GB/sec via some sorta special thingi (read it online somewhere).

I say within the next 5 - 10 years there will folks saying that you have to "store" everything online and there will be no privacy... shock horror! - What do you think?

Wow, subscription OS isn't good. That's all I'd like to say.

Thanks for the comment, seems no one else wants to comment. But, I think we're getting there... like it or not

Hmmm, if they go subscription, it might mean that I'll go Mac.

Subscription OS might do well in the business environment but there's a cold day in hell before I install that on my PC.

Basically, whatever the last OS Microsoft puts out that is non-subscription based is what I'd stick to.

Microsoft hasn't a clue what to do beyond their core business. They throw up trial balloons, but really have no idea how to exist in the "cloud."

Don't blame Microsoft just yet, Apple might go down that route too.

1. SWSoft
2. Microsoft
3. Modern Bill
4. cPanel

Those are just some of the ones that are already doing this.

SWSoft, by the way, is now Parallels.

basically i will wait and see for the first year of product launch... i cant afford the risk.
once its good and nice, i will migrate to new tech or OS.

basically, for OS, it will getting better and reliable. Thats what i need. Fancy features might not work for me. cause i using it 90% for online, and remaining for paperwork thing. So, i don't need a rocket science sort of thing in my pc :P

IMO, it will be bigger, faster and cheaper
