HTML / Design Are you a designer? Or just trying to become one? Great! You'll be able to talk about layouts, and HTML code to help your fellow designers, so everyone can work together to master the tricks of the trade. (Maybe even some JavaScript too!)

Default Apple Safari: positioning problems

I think this is very strange
I write in XHTML
I am looking at adding some PHP

on Host(I)Can, I added an Apache Handler through CPanel
Handler: application/x-httpd-php
Extension: .xhtml

locally, I am working from local files (not my Apache server)

I have a page (that does not contain PHP)
that renders correctly in Camino and Safari locally
and in Camino from Host(I)Can

but, it only renders correctly in Safari from Host(I)Can
when the Apache Handler described above is removed.
with the Apache Handler installed,
the positioning of some elements is incorrect.

what?
how can I install the Apache Handler to use PHP in my XHTML files
and have Safari render my positioning correctly for files from Host(I)Can?

This may not provide a direct answer, but if you check the WebKit site created by Apple, at:

Surfin’ Safari

you may just get some answers that'll help you. It's run by David Hyatt, one of the creators of Firefox, by the way, who went to Apple to work on the Safari and WebKit projects.
