| HTML / Design Are you a designer? Or just trying to become one? Great! You'll be able to talk about layouts, and HTML code to help your fellow designers, so everyone can work together to master the tricks of the trade. (Maybe even some JavaScript too!) |

I want to hide the contents of a folder on my website, so if someone open in your browser to can not see its contents. Folder contains large pdf files and I don`t want to downloaded them directly from there, I want they to do this through a form from my web site.

My favourite and easy way is to put empty index.html file in this directory. Log in to cPanel and start File Manager, or use FTP access to navigate to this folder. Make new empty file with name index.html. That is all, try to open the folder through your web browser and will see blank screen.

Another way is through Index Manager from cPanel. Index Manager is located in Advanced group icon. Click on the icon and will see all folders listed under the sentence:
Code:
Please select the folder you wish to protect by clicking on its name. You can navigate by clicking on icons. Code:
Default System Setting No Indexing Standard Indexing (filename only) Fancy Indexing (filename and description) |
