Default Not too impressed

I must say that I am not too impressed with the pricing/features of the dedicated servers.
Mainly the features p4 3.2 for 230 something a month I have seen several places offering quad core processors for only 260.00 a month with 1 gb of ram.

Just MHO.

Without commenting on what another company offers, a dedicated server is not just the processor, but bandwidth, features, service, etc. You can pay less perhaps, but what counts is that your site runs fast, with minimal downtime, so your customers/members, etc., can depend on you.

How true shazam. My last host was bad. So you indeed do have a great point there buddy, But for me I would rather give up bandwidth for power.

But indeed nothing can replace uptime and customer service.

The dedicated box I use for my own stuff has two processors, but you have to realize that you are going to have to have a lot of really intensive stuff going on to tax the CPU that much, let alone quad-processing. Lots of applications don't even know anything about multiprocessing.

Ditto for RAM. The hard drives and the speed of the backbone may really have more to do with how your site performs.

Haha, I wouldn't be able to use a quad core with gaming. That would take some serious server hogging applications

And video sites could definitely require multiple quad core servers.
