Default Upgrading to WP 2.5

Hi,

I'm in no hurry to upgrade to 2.5. Should I just wait until Fantasico releases the update? I assume its much easier to upgrade from Fantasico than going through the steps I've read about in this forum.

Thanks

Fantastico has already released the update.

Exclamation Wordpress 2.5 Whisper and Warning

You've been getting the "beg" notice at the top of your blog and you're thinking of upgrading your Wordpress installation.

You may be TEMPTED to upgrade because you've heard that Technorati won't index your site if you don't. (That's true)

Or you may be tempted to update because you've read the horror stories about what might happen if you don't. After all, 2.5 IS listed as a security upgrade.

Unfortunately, you're going to have to make a choice if you choose to upgrade.

If you're like most Wordpress blog users, you rely on the CMS to do things you don't or can't do. Things like update content via http or uploading images without resorting to FTP. Unfortunately, you won't be able to do the latter if you're hosted here and you upgrade to Wordpress 2.5

Since i upgraded my blog (not via Fantastico) I am now unable to upload images to my site and can only do so via FTP.

The Wordpress forums have said this is a hosting provider issue. When I submitted a support ticket, I was sent here to "discuss" this with others.

So this is not only a whisper and a warning... it's a cry for help. PLEASE!!! What do I have to do to make Wordpress 2.5 upload files to the server?

Hmm, shared hosting or VPS? I don't have any issues with posting via Live Writer to my HostICan hosted blog... but I *do* have a VPS, not shared.
