I signed up for your affiliate program so I could refer a friend.

Now, if I understands what was stated in a previous post, if my friend does a quick search on the internet for discount codes, or happens to read Scott's signature and uses a promotion code to get a discount, I would get nothing? Dispite the fact that they used the affiliate link that was provided to me?

Is this correct? If so, is there a way that I could obtain my own personal discount code? I didn't see anywhere in the affiliates page to get one (like the $50 one in Scott's signature).

Hey man!

Well basically for the $50 off coupon it works like this. This coupon is designed for affiliates that refer 30+ sales per month to our hosting. If you refer less then 30+ then you can get another coupon, you will have to contact the hostican affiliate help desk at affiliate [-At-] hostican.com and I will be glad to work with you and get you a coupon.

I signed up for the affiliate newsletter, and it sent me a 10% coupon.
How does that coupon affect commission?

Thanks for the reply. With this, you would still get a commission, since its a internal promotion and the coupon isn't provided to anyone specifically.

Most internal coupons HIC uses aren't assigned therefore you will still get your commission, Tried and tested.
