roger,
It is sound advice for MOST programs and I agree with it, but for hosting, I tend to disagree. Sending the customer directly to the order page can be very confusing for them. Most people click banners to find more information about that company's product. If you send them directly to the order page, it is VERY hard for them to backtrack and get the details of the plan, etc. Unless the page you are sending traffic from COMPLETELY DESCRIBES the hosting plan to the customer, this is a bad idea. But as they say, testing is virtue here. TRY it and see what happens. Use one month of testing to see if sending them to the buy page (possible with HIC using their provided redirect options) helps or hurts your sales.

Well, I want to clarify further here:
If you are selling for a host that offers ONE PLAN it might be worth it to send them directly to the order page since the customer only has one choice. There are hosts I know of that I send to the order page for this reason. But for HIC, they have 4 viable options from shared to VPS to choose from. I don't think making the decision for the buyer is a good idea. What if they want a VPS and you send them to the base-host shared offer? Possible lost sale. In the end, like I said, TEST TEST TEST TEST.

The first thing you have to remember about affiliates is Traffic. you can have Awesome affiliated but if no one sees them it does you no good.
with that being said, here are a few of my favorite places to setup affiliates: Amazon.com - at the bottom of the page you will see Join Assosiates, it allows you to sell anything you can find on amazon and you get a % of that sale. Google Ads - these are good, but pay very little, use them more as a space filler them a profit generation tool. CJ.com & ClickBank.com - both good sites for finding affiliate links and you can find some high paying |

I have been doing this kind of work online since 2006, but only with ads such a Adsense or Bidvertiser or Adbrite.
I want to go to the next level so I need to know what are the best affiliate programs that pay you with paypal. I don't want sites that only pay you by check. |
