It is sound advice for MOST programs and I agree with it, but for hosting, I tend to disagree. Sending the customer directly to the order page can be very confusing for them.
Most people click banners to find more information about that company's product. If you send them directly to the order page, it is VERY hard for them to backtrack and get the details of the plan, etc.
Unless the page you are sending traffic from COMPLETELY DESCRIBES the hosting plan to the customer, this is a bad idea.
But as they say, testing is virtue here. TRY it and see what happens. Use one month of testing to see if sending them to the buy page (possible with HIC using their provided redirect options) helps or hurts your sales.
